DAY 1: EN ROUTE – Depart U.S.A. via overnight jet flight to Istanbul. Dinner and breakfast served on board. (D)

DAY 2: ISTANBUL – Arrive in Istanbul, your Pharos tour host will meet and escort you to your hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure. (B)

DAY 3: ISTANBUL – Today, discover the former capitol city. Drive to the old town, visit the Blue Mosque, the Hippodrome of the Roman Empire, St. Sophia, the famous Basilica of the Byzantine Empire. In the afternoon, visit of Topkopi Palace Museum, the residence of the Ottoman Sultans for centuries. Shopping at the Grand Bazaar. Overnight in Istanbul. (B,L)

DAY 4: ISTANBUL – ANKARA – Transfer to the airport for short flight to Ankara. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel. In the afternoon, visit the remarkable Anatolion Civilizations Museum, the Augustus Temple and the Mausoleum of Kernal Ataturk. Overnight in Ankara. (B)

DAY 5: ANKARA – CAPPADOCIA – Morning departure. Drive along the Salt Lake to the Cappodocia region. Visit the rock carved churches, monasteries with spectacular view of the valleys of GOREME, ZELVE, AVANOS, see the settlements at ORTAHISAR and UCHISAR. Overnight in Cappadocia. (B)

DAY 6: CAPPADOCIA – IZMIR – Visit the underground city of KAYMAKLIT with its underground nine floors used by early Christians in that region as crypts. After lunch drive to Ankara airport, for flight to IZMIR. Transfer to hotel and overnight stay in IZMIR. (B,L)

DAY 7: IZMIR – Full day excursion to EPHESUS. Visit the Greco-Roman city, see the marble paved streets, the Theatre, Celsus Library, Andrian’s Temple. Visit the Basilica of St. John, Temple of Artemis and House of the Virgin Mary. Overnight in IZMIR. (B)

DAY 8: IZMIR – ISTANBUL – Flight to Istanbul, transfer to the hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure. (B)

DAY 9: ISTANBUL – DEPARTURE – Today, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to New York.
