DAY 1: EN ROUTE – Depart U.S.A. via overnight jet flight to Tel Aviv. Dinner and breakfast served on board. (D,B)

 

DAY 2: TEL AVIV – NETANYA – Arrival at Ben Gurion airport, met and assisted by Pharos personnel, escorted to your hotel. Overnight in Netanya. (B)

 

DAY 3: CESAREA – HAIFA – TIBERIAS – Leave Netaya, drive along the Mediterranean coast to Cesarea built by Herod the Great in honor of Augustus Caesar. Here, Peter baptized the Roman Centurion Cornelius, and apostle Paul set sail from the ancient part on his journey to Rome. Among the magnificent array of archaeological finds at the site are Crusader fortifications, a Byzantine street, a Roman theater and aqueducts. Continue to Megiddo, one of the chariot cities of King Solomon. The New Testament identifies Megiddo with Armageddon (Rev. 16:16), where according to tradition the site of prophet Elijah’s triumph. Travel to Haifa for a panoramic view of the bay and river Kishon, then to Acre (Ptolemais), a picturesque part town to which Paul returned from a missionary journey. Overnight in Tiberias. (B)

 

DAY 4: GALILEE – CAPERNAUM – TAHGAHA – Enjoy a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Visit Capernaum and see the ancient synagogue where Jesus taught, and the stone with the carving of the Ark f the Convenant. Visit Tahgha, where Jesus fed the 5000, the Church of Multiplication with its fourth century mosaic floor. On to the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount. Travel the road to Damascus to the Golan Heights. Visit Dan and the Banias springs at Caesarea Philippi, where Jesus spent time with His disciples. Overnight in Tiberias. (B)

 

DAY 5: CANA – NAZARETH – JERICHO – JERUSALEM – Visit the Jordon River baptismal site at the south end of the Sea of Galilee. Continue via Cana, site of the first miracle, where Jesus turned water into wine at the wedding feast (John 2:1-11), to Nazareth the boyhood home of Jesus, and the Church of Annuncation. Pass the Galilee mountains, drive to Beit Shean with its recently excavated amphitheater. Through the Jordan valley, travel to Jericho, the first city conquered by Joshua. Observe the Mt. of Temptations, where Jesus spent 40 days in the desert tempted by Satan (Matt 4:1-10). Ascend the Judean hills to Jerusalem. Overnight in Jerusalem. (B)

 

DAY 6: JERUSALEM – Day in the Holy City begins as we enjoy the unforgettable view from atop the Mt. of Olives. We follow in His Foot-steps from the Triumphal entry to the Resurrection. View Bethphage, the Palm Sunday Walk and the Upper Room near King David’s Tomb. The Garden of Gethshemane, the House of Caiphas and the Proetorium courtyard, where Jesus was tried by Pontius Pilate. View the Temple Mount and the Western Wall. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the Bazaar, following the Way of the Cross to the Garden Tomb. Overnight in Jerusalem. (B,D)

 

DAY 7:JERUSALEM – Today, visit the new city of Jerusalem, first to Yad Vashem, the memorial to the Holocaust. Next, visit the Jerusalem Model, a miniature replica of Herodian Jerusalem. Visit the Israel Museum, see the Shrine of the Book where the Dead Sea Scrolls are exhibited, to Ein Karem, home of John the Baptist, then to Bethlehem, visit the site of the Nativity, birthplace of Jesus, view Shepherd’s Field. Overnight in Jerusalem, (BD)

 

DAY 8: DEAD SEA – MASADA – JERUSALEM – Depart Jerusalem through the

Judean mountains and drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to Masoda. Ascend the eastern slope by cable car and walk on the mountain refuge where excavations have uncovered luxurious palaces, mosaic Floors, frescoes, a synagogue and Biblical scrolls. Drive to Qumran, home of the Essenes and see the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered, lime permitting, bathe in the Dead Sea for a unique experience. Follow the pilgrim route to Jerusalem and return to your hotel. Overnight in Jerusalem. (B)

 

DAY 9: TEL AVIV – DEPARTURE – Breakfast and transfer to Ben Gurion airport for the return flight to New York. (Extensions available. All denomination pilgrimages available) (B)
